Red Sox Game 48 Recap: The Red Sox Traded Andrew Miller for Eduardo Rodriguez.

Highest WPA: Eduardo Rodriguez, .446
Lowest WPA: Pablo Sandoval, -.146

I guess we can win trades? It was only one start though. But yeah, the Red Sox return for Andrew Miller made his major league debut tonight and he actually looked like he can throw a baseball! No, really! Something we haven’t been able to say about most of this rotation this year! Let’s temper our expectations after only one start. After all, if he’s going to make any more before getting sent back down then he’s going to have to spend four days sitting in the dugout with some dudes who most certainly have nothing useful to tell him.

The offense wasn’t bad either, outside of those three double plays that I can remember them hitting into. Hanley Ramirez hit his first home run in a month, which is awfully nice of him. Dustin Pedroia is back to being the best hitter on the team and that’s not just a matter of him being healthy. Mookie Betts is cool and I want to be friends. Even Blake Swihart had two hits, which signifies that whenever he hits the ball out of the infield I’m going to end up being the one who writes the recap. Xander Bogaerts got hit in the arm and I sure hope he isn’t dead. That’s all! A sold win and I didn’t even spend any time mocking Josh Hamiltion.
