Bruins Game 29 recap: “Effort” is great, but….

Has it really been since October? Zdeno Chara hasn’t played since October 23rd, but tonight he was back. Well anyway the captain came back tonight and the team put together a great effort against what looked like an almost unbeatable Blackhawks team. But the problem is, when it was over the Bruins had lost another game. There was a spirited comeback sure, not to mention they managed to actually get under the Hawks’ skin and play like a much better team than they have since Chara’s injury, but they didn’t win. Right now the Bruins need to beat teams like the Blackhawks, all these efforts don’t mean too much in the standings. Comebacks are nice, the way that the team played was nice, but they need to win. And yes, scoring was a problem again. If it makes you feel any better, Tyler Seguin is leading the league in scoring. Wait, I’m not sure how that’s supposed to make you feel better.

Well, so much for that. It was a nice game while it lasted and it feels nicer to win these than it does to lose them. The Bruins try again against Ottawa on Saturday afternoon at 1. Tune in.
