Red Sox Game 60 Recap: The ones I saw were smaller

Highest WPA: Burke Badenhop, .052 (1.1 IP, H)
Lowest WPA: Rubby de la Rosa, -.173 (5.2 IP, 9 H, 4 ER, 5 K, 2 BB, 2 HR)

I was absent for this one, because I was umpiring the 12-year-old Red Sox as they lost (some things never change) to a team wearing the colors of the Durham Bulls. I don’t think the actual Red Sox would lose to the actual Durham Bulls, but the Bulls did run out a better starter tonight, if minor league numbers mean anything.

Jackie Bradley went 0-3 with 3 strikeouts tonight, so, yeah, minor league numbers don’t mean anything.

The good news is that Jon Lester is starting tomorrow! The bad news is that he’s facing Max Scherzer and the Tigers have a better offense than us by a factor of like six gazillion, but, hey, at least we have a good pitcher for once. I expect him to get bombed now that I’ve said that.
