Red Sox Game 48 Recap: So when you really think about it…what’s the point?

Highest WPA: Burke Badenhop, .249 (2 IP, H, 0 R, K, BB)
Lowest WPA: Andrew Miller, -.344 (.1 IP, 2 H, R, K)

Without David Ortiz or Mike Napoli in the lineup, the Red Sox still scored five runs in the first inning off of David Price. Could they hang on? Of course not.

For once in his life, John Farrell actually used his CLOSER in the bottom of the ninth of a tied game, thereby extending the game for another inning. Did the offense do anything? Of course not.

Instead, yet again, the Red Sox lost. They’ve lost approximately a zillion games in a row now. Are they ever going to win again? Of course not.

Special credit goes to Andrew Miller, whose defensive incompetence was something to behold. This is the third time in the last two weeks that he’s been walked off against. At least Koji got in the game first this time!
