Bruins Game 54 Recap: I guess it’s too late for Groundhog Day jokes, so…………….???

Two and a half years ago the Bruins beat the Canucks in Vancouver for their first Stanley Cup since the 70’s. I guess they haven’t been back to Boston since then? Maybe they have, I don’t remember! Well, they came back tonight and the Bruins dominated them through most of the game. Around midway through the second period the Bruins countered a Vancouver breakaway by immediately taking the puck back to the Canuck side of the ice an putting it it past Luongo to score their first insurance goal and by all appearances seem to score the knockout punch of the contest at it’s halfway point.

Maybe Vancouver did get on the board soon afterwards, but it wasn’t difficult for the B’s to score another insurance goal and put things to bed (again). The game never really seemed to be in all that much doubt with excellent goaltending from Tuukka Rask and all-around solid work from the Bruin skaters. It’s good to see the Bruins put in their second straight dominating performance after the bizarre disappointment against Montreal. Hopefully this level of play continues when the team travels to St. Louis on Thursday to play a really tough Blues team. The game starts at eight and who knows when you’ll get another chance to see the Blues before the postseason. Tune in!
