Red Sox Game 141 recap: In play, run(s)

Highest WPA: Stephen Drew, .210 (2-2, 2 BB, HR, 2 RBI, 2 R)
Lowest WPA: Ryan Dempster, -.050 (6 IP, 6 H, 2 BB, 7 K, HR, 4 ER)

The big story in this game was Shane Victorino falling into the standsRyan Dempster not being the worse starterQuintin Berry leading the Red Sox in OPS so many runs.

If meaningful momentum exists (it doesn’t), the Sox should be feeling pretty damn good heading to New York tomorrow. Of course, Will Middlebrooks (acceptable use of contending team bench spot though he would be) won’t be able to take advantage of a short porch to his pull side, but the lefty dingers? I’ll take some more of those, please. I’ll also take more Mike Carp pinch hitting appearances, though I guess I shouldn’t hold my breath.

Blowout Red Sox wins that lack good bloggable narratives due to lack of drama or complaint are fun. I hope to see a lot more of them in the coming months.
