Red Sox Game 59 preview: Officially concerned

So Jacoby Ellsbury steals five bases in one game, is put in the lineup for the next day, then taken out…and now it’s four days later and he still isn’t playing. Ruh-roh, Raggy.

8. 3B Jose Iglesias – .434/.456/.585 (.448)
9. CF Jackie Bradley, Jr. – .163/.280/.233 (.243)

SP Ryan Dempster – 62.2 IP, 71 K, 32 BB, 10 HR; 4.45 ERA (99 ERA+)
4.41 FIP, 3.83 xFIP, 4.42 tERA, 3.82 SIERA

It was just a little infuriating to watch ESPN fawn over Iglesias Sunday night; the more buzz he gets, the more I worry that he’ll turn the best 57 plate appearances of his life into more playing time than his true talent deserves. Thankfully, Will Middlebrooks will start his rehab assignment tonight in Pawtucket, so hopefully after Iglesias goes 0 for the week he can go back to the minors and whine about not getting the chances he deserves until he’s cut or traded. Jose Iglesias sucks and I hate his stupid face.
