Red Sox Game 53 preview: Cliffhanger

Facing Cliff Lee is as good an excuse as any to mention the second-best Price is Right game in existence, right?

1. CF Jacoby Ellsbury – .257/.325/.353 (.301 wOBA)
2. LF Jonny Gomes – .176/.333/.286 (.287)
3. 2B Dustin Pedroia – .333/.425/.448 (.385)
4. DH David Ortiz – .346/.408/.622 (.433)
5. 1B Mike Napoli – .262/.342/.492 (.360)
6. RF Daniel Nava – .289/.393/.463 (.370)
7. C David Ross – .188/.291/.458 (.326)
8. SS Stephen Drew – .233/.333/.395 (.320)
9. 3B Jose Iglesias – .438/.472/.531 (.435)

SP Ryan Dempster – 55.2 IP, 67 K, 29 BB, 9 HR; 4.69 ERA (95 ERA+)
4.33 FIP, 3.71 xFIP, 4.34 tERA, 3.69 SIERA

Cliff Lee is really really good, so this is probably pointless, but at least Dempster gets to face a National League team again. That’s nice. But really, I don’t have high hopes for this one; I’m not saying Lee’s going to throw a no-hitter or anything, but there are going to be at least three innings where he gets two outs on five pitches, and it’s going to be infuriating.
