Goog’s MLB predictions

Rejoice! Baseball season is upon us! As is custom, I shall go on the record now with my predictions for the coming year, and then in September or October we’ll revisit completely ignore them to save my dignity. Here we go!

AL EAST
Toronto Blue Jays
New York Yankees (WC)
Tampa Bay Rays
Boston Red Sox
Baltimore Orioles

AL CENTRAL
Detroit Tigers
Cleveland Indians
Chicago White Sox
Kansas City Royals
Minnesota Twins

AL WEST
Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim
Texas Rangers (WC)
Oakland Athletics
Seattle Mariners
Houston Astros

NL EAST
Washington Nationals
Atlanta Braves (WC)
Philadelphia Phillies
New York Mets
Miami Marlins

NL CENTRAL
Cincinnati Reds
St. Louis Cardinals
Milwaukee Brewers
Chicago Cubs
Pittsburgh Pirates

NL WEST
Los Angeles Dodgers
San Francisco Giants (WC)
Arizona Diamondbacks
San Diego Padres
Colorado Rockies

Detailed playoff predictions are a crapshoot the day before the games are played, never mind six months out, so I won’t be making them. But, just for the Hell of it:

WORLD SERIES
Blue Jays def. Nationals

AL AWARDS
MVP: Jose Bautista
CY: Justin Verlander
ROY: Wil Myers
Manager: Terry Francona
Comeback: Jacoby Ellsbury

NL AWARDS
MVP: Bryce Harper
CY: Stephen Strasburg
ROY: Travis d’Arnaud
Manager: Davey Johnson
Comeback: Tim Lincecum

I’m all-in on the Nationals this year, basically. I think they’re the best team in baseball, and they’re going to win over 100 games. So if they miss the playoffs entirely…well, it’s all my fault.

It’s nice to see we agree on everything except the Cubs being better than the Pirates.
