Cardinals/Giants NLCS Game 7 Preview: Big-Time Timmy Jim and the Bay Area Bunch

This one’s for all the marbles folks! The Cardinals have one last shot at pissing us all off, otherwise they go home and the World Series retains some form of entertainment value outside of violently rooting against St. Louis. Both teams have already attempted to ruin baseball for outside observers without their own squad to cheer for in the playoffs this year. Without a bandwagon to crush, how will they find a way to defeat each other? That’s why we play these games folks!

Matt Holiday returns after missing game 6 with an injury. Other than that there are no real lineup changes of note. Matt Cain gets his second start of the series after having a strong but ultimately unsuccessful start in game 3. Kyle Lohse goes for the Cardinals. Both pitchers should be able to take advantage of AT&T Park’s wide dimensions, making a tight pitcher’s duel a likely outcome. Then again, this is baseball, and basically anything is possible. Tune in at 8 EST, or don’t. Hold off for a few minutes and you’ll save yourself the effort of gutting your way through Tim McCarver’s pregame analysis.
