4. James Loney, 1B
5. Cody Ross, RF
6. Jarrod Saltalamacchia, C

8. Scott Podsednik, DH
9. Jose Iglesias, SS

SP: Aaron Cook, 5.17 ERA, 76.2 IP,  17 K, 15 BB

After last night’s hilarious win, who’s to say Aaron Cook might not throw up five acceptable innings and the Sox could win another game in dramatic fashion? It’s a possibility right? I’m so pleased with the way that yesterday went that I don’t even care that we removed Podsednik’s one possible strength just to highlight his biggest weakness by making him the DH. When is Valentine going to figure out that a guy who’s only job is to hit shouldn’t be a guy you recognize as a bad hitter in a bad lineup? Who cares! The season is almost over!

After last night’s debacle and an Orioles win, the Yankees are once again tied with Baltimore for the division lead. Starter David Phelps is a 26 year-old rookie who pitched mysteriously well in the minors for a guy who wasn’t called up until he was 26. This will only be his ninth start, the majority of his appearances this year have either been from the bullpen or in the minors.  Tune in again folks, last night was a hum-dinger, tonight suggests more of the same.
