Game 139 Recap: ARGH! MY GROIN!

Highest WPA: Mauro Gomez, .68
Lowest WPA: Felix Doubront, -.195

Daniel Bard is probably broken. In a 5-3 game in the top of the 9th, he hung a slider that was hit over the short wall in right field for a two-run homer. In the bottom of said inning, Brandon Lyon surrendered a two-run homer to Mauro Gomez that would’ve tied the game if, you know, Daniel Bard wasn’t broken. Then Scott Podsednik struck out and the Red Sox lost by a final of 7-5. This one was slightly harder to absorb than normal thanks to the rain delay and the botched comeback, but in the end it’s just another loss in a lost season.
