Game *counts on fingers* Recap: California Dreamin’ (of a win)

Highest WPA: James Loney, .083
Lowest WPA: Jon Lester, -.312

Welp, there you have it kiddies: for the first time ever the Boston Red Sox were swept in the season series by the Anaheim California Angels of Los Angeles. Zack Greinke went seven innings, Torii Hunter and Albert Pujols provided the offense, and that was that. Jon Lester threw an eight-inning complete game for the Red Sox even after giving up five runs through the first four innings, sparing viewers the Daniel Bard Experience until the team reaches the massive foul territory of the Oakland Colosseum. On the positive side, James Loney hit a home run and collected three hits, so I admit it: batting Loney cleanup was a horrible, horrible mistake that somehow paid off. Now off to Northern California, and a team we normally play horribly against for no reason! A fun weekend awaits.
