Game 120 Recap: New York New York, it’s a terrible town!

Highest WPA: Dustin Pedroia, .179
Lowest WPA: Franklin Morales, -.214

On an otherwise uneventful night, the Red Sox were dingered to death and fell further behind in a division race that doesn’t really exist. Dustin Pedroia hit a three-run shot in a four-run third inning that was really the only bright spot of the night. Four of the five home runs were given up by Franklin Morales, and all of them were solo shots, leaving one to shudder at what might have resulted if the Yankees had managed more baserunners.  Either way it was a loss and another nail in the coffin of the 2012 Red Sox. Currently the team is 13 1/2 games back in the division and 6 1/2 back in the Wild Card race, which means it’s pretty much over as far as playoffs are concerned without some hilarious luck. Hope for the team to stay healthy at this point, and maybe things will change in 2013.
