Game 115 recap: Yaketysax.mp3

Highest WPA: Dustin Pedroia, .034
Lowest WPA: Franklin Morales, -.134

Is it possible to suggest that maybe, just maybe, certain members of the team are pressing in order to save a team that’s almost certainly done before August, Hell, before July was even finished? Tonight we got the spectacle of three consecutive Red Sox baserunners crossing home plate within feet of each other, only for the final runner, Dustin Pedroia, to be thrown out. Then we got Jacoby Ellsbury being thrown out trying to stretch a double into a triple. Craig Breslow got ridden out again and is refusing pleas to seek police protection from Bobby Valentine. And to cap it all off, the vast majority of the damage was done by Brent Lillibridge, one of the magic beans the team swapped Kevin Youkilis for and then suddenly decided they didn’t want.

It looks ugly now folks, but remember that the point of the rest of the season is to ride out the schedule without hurting anyone. Oh wait, doesn’t Carl Crawford need major arm surgery? Well so much for that!
