Game 107 recap: Below .500 again

Felix Doubront being terrible is among the least surprising things ever.

Highest WPA: Craig Breslow/Carl Crawford, .138
Lowest WPA: Will Middlebrooks, -.298

This one was frustrating. Doubront was handed a 5-1 lead and couldn’t hold onto it for even an inning, and then chance after chance to take the lead back was wasted before the Twins finally broke through in the 10th and took the win. Crawford hitting another homer and adding a double to it is quite nice, but ultimately this was a game that the Red Sox should have won if they want to harbor any hopes of a late-season surge. If they wind up one or two games shy of the last wild card spot, this will be one of the ones that makes you look back and wonder what might have been.
