Game 91 recap: My timing leaves something to be desired

At least it was a Youk bomb that did it, instead of some jerk like Pierzynski

Highest WPA: Carl Crawford, .102
Lowest WPA: Jon Lester, -.336

So in the preview I mentioned that Lester had been getting a little unlucky on balls in play. And through the first three innings, that seemed to be the case again. Then the fourth happened, and it turned into just a really bad start by a really good pitcher. That’s a shame. Also, if you’re going to be around Fenway, watch your head; you might get hit by Jarrod Saltalamacchia crashing back to earth.

Some positives! Well, one positive, at least: Carl Crawford. If 2011 is truly behind him and nights like tonight are what we can expect going forward…that would be nice.

DAVID ORTIZ DL WATCH: It has been one day since David Ortiz injured his Achilles. In that time, he has missed one game. He has not been placed on the disabled list. (I’m betting that this is going to be a running gag for a week or so.)
