The NHL is totally back you guys!
In case you missed it, because the news broke at 5 am and the NHL is still required by law to be terrible, the National Hockey League and the Players Union reached a tentative agreement to settle their labor dispute last night. So far, almost half the season has passed by without a game played, and there’s no news yet on what this could possibly mean for the start of a shortened half-season of some sort.
This deal needs to be approved by both the League’s Governors and the players, which means that we might yet see Gary Bettman, Donald Fehr, or our own Jeremy Jacobs stomp all over the thing just for the sake of shaking a few more dimes out of the agreement. Never count out the stupidity of the National Hockey League. But things look good right now. We might actually get professional hockey by, I don’t know, the end of the month.
Wait, did I just jinx it? Damn. Sorry guys.
I accidentally tagged this “NFL” when it went up. Ominous sign?
